We're here!

Hi everyone! We made it. It's 9:40 pm here, 2:40 pm there at home. Our flight from Seattle to Boston was delayed because they changed equipment on us in Seattle, so our 1 hr 10 min connection time to catch the British Air flight disintegrated to a mere 1/2 hr. Then we discovered that we had to catch a bus in Boston to get to the terminal our flight was to go out of, and by the time we caught the bus, went into the wrong security area, turned around and went back, the guys in security knew who we were and that we were late for our flight. They hurried us through, yelled down the hall to let people know we were coming, and we RAN. Well, as fast as we could, anyway. Those wonderful British Airway people waited for us, got our boarding passes checked through, and led us down the hallway to the flight. We must have looked pretty harried, because the really nice male flight attendant kept telling us we were ok, that we had time, and that it didn't matter, we were here now. After we went through security I made Mom run without tying her shoes. I'll never hear the end of it, I'm sure! What I didn't tell Mom until we were almost to England was that I was pretty sure they wouldn't have had time to get our luggage on the flight with us. And they didn't. So we are both here without our luggage, hoping it will be delivered to us tomorrow. Mom's pretty confident about it coming to us tomorrow. I work in reservations - I'm not so sure, but I haven't told her that. In my carry-on I have my pajamas and one change of underwear and clothing. Mom has a change of underwear. But Pam looks like she's about the same size as Mom, so I think we'll be ok.

It's raining like crazy, and has been for a few days I guess. It was dark when we got here, so we haven't seen much, but we're in Pam and Roger's very cute little house with 2 cats - 1 is 16 yrs old, and they thought she was old until I told them about our 21 yr old cat. They are very nice - I'm looking forward to being awake tomorrow and getting to know them.

We haven't had much sleep, planes are impossible to sleep on, so we're both pretty tired and worn out from running. I can't wait until daylight so we can see something. I had to NOT look at the road while we drove here, cuz my insides were freaked out about seeing cars coming at us on the wrong side of the road.

I'll write more when we see something and have something to report. Mom's pretty excited to know she actually made it and she's here. Talk to you more later. Love to all of you! Gayla

Your husband is happy to know that you are there and in one piece. Your house is still in one piece and your son is still alive. I'll tell Corey when I get home if he hasn't seen the blog. Your house is still in one piece and your son is still alive.
